When I make a book I have to decide on its size and shape, how many pages I need, and what paper to use.  The size that the paper is available in will affect the size I can make the book.  Sometimes I’ve determined the size of a book because of the size of the cut-offs saved from an earlier book.  I use good paper and don’t throw cut-offs away.

The workbooks are full of information.  I draw a cutting plan for the paper showing cuts and score lines  for folding.  If the book will have pages that fold out I make a three dimensional drawing to explain the cuts and folds in addition to the cutting plan.

There are a lot of dimensions in the workbooks.  There are building plans for a book cradle or a shelf I want to make for an exhibition and plans for exhibition models.  There are lists of book titles or image titles and even drawings for making miniature exhibition furniture to be set up and photographed and used for a book show proposal.  There are images in these books for anything I need to build and any sequence of photographs I need to record.
